About Amanda J Edwin

Amanda J Edwin - Paralegal & Notary Public

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Amanda immigrated to Canada with her family in 2008. She was an Educator in T & T for over 21 years and ended her tenure as a Head of Department.

Starting over in a new country posed its challenges, so Amanda made the decision to pursue a second career. She attended triOS College in Kitchener, and successfully obtained her Paralegal Diploma with Honours, thereafter securing her Paralegal licence through the newly named Law Society of Ontario in 2012.

Over the years, Amanda has worked as a Paralegal for companies such as X-Copper, TREND Financial Corp., and Christensen Law Firm. She gained a significant amount of administrative and courtroom experience in Provincial Offences, Small Claims and Landlord and Tenant matters, experience she now brings to Amicus Paralegal Services. A vast amount of that experience pertained to matters relating to debt recovery, highway traffic tickets, evictions, breach of contract, and matters arising from the Dog Owner's Liability Act.

Following her desire to give back to her community while advocating for social justice, Amanda joined the Canadian Caribbean Association of Waterloo Region (CCAWR) as a Board Member from 2016 to 2023. She also served as the Secretary on the Executive Board of Directors for 4 years. She continues to serve as a member of the organization's Scholarship Committee.

Amanda currently lives in Kitchener and maintains a deep interest in education. She teaches adults part-time and recently founded Spark Hope For Kids Inc, a non-profit in the City of Kitchener.
